Hard work, Consistency & Determination
I joined the Medium platform January 2021 after being introduced to this awesome forum by a close friend who sent me her first post I truly enjoyed reading. It is now September 2021 and I have made exactly 39 cents with about 7 entries — yayyy. I did not expect my stories to boom overnight but I also did not think I would have less than 100 views in 8 month but I’ve learned patience is key so I will cherish my 97 views and 39 cents. Sorry for the clickbait but I’m writing my success into existence.
I’ve always had a passion for writing and it came about during my early childhood reading at least 10 books a week. English is my second language, my first two were French & Haitian Creole. I was in ESL (English as Second Language) classes for most of my schooling perfecting the not so simple American language— I would say NOW English is definitely my first language. I accomplished this by reading A LOT of books. Whether it was non-fiction, romance, horror, autobiographies — I had a book with me at all times. Reading is powerful. It allowed me to escape my reality and be a part of a flawless world— a world I could start and stop whenever I want — depending on the material of course. The thriller pieces by Edgar Allan Poe were intriguing but not a world I wanted to escape to with hearts beating under floor boards…
